How Offscript works

Connect. Understand.
Surface. Act.

Offscript is a context-aware AI for work that connects information across your work and helps you understand what matters, why it matters and what to do next. Here’s how that happens, one step at a time.

Connect
your work context.

Start with what you capture in the app: thoughts, voice notes and conversations. Then, when you choose, connect Slack, Google Calendar and Linear. Slack brings relevant DMs, mentions and reply context; Google Calendar brings upcoming meetings and preparation context; Linear brings issue context. Linear appears when it’s enabled for your account.

Understand
how it fits together.

Offscript relates the people, conversations, decisions and promises around your work: who said what, what was agreed, what changed and what you owe each other.

What is work context?

Surface
what matters, when it matters.

Relevant context comes forward when it’s useful: before a conversation, when a reply is due, or when something changes.

What makes AI context-aware

Act
on the next step.

You know what to do next, and why. When a follow-up helps, Offscript prepares a draft. It waits for you to review the recipient, wording and context, and nothing is sent without your confirmation.

How your data is handled

What. Why. When. How.

Context is only useful when it tells you something. Offscript frames what it brings forward around four questions:

  • What needs your attention?
  • Why does it matter?
  • When does it need to happen?
  • How: what’s the best next step?

That’s the difference between a pile of notes and knowing what matters, why it matters and what to do next.

A worked example: “Can we deliver on Friday?”

Maya asks whether Friday’s delivery still stands. The answer isn’t in one place. The original promise came up in a meeting. The approval date changed in a Slack thread. Friday depended on that approval.

Without the context, answering means reopening notes, scrolling back through Slack and asking around. With it, the picture looks like this:

QuestionAnswer

WhyApproval moved from Wednesday to Thursday, and Friday depended on it.
WhenBefore you reply today.
HowCheck with the team, then review and send the reply Offscript drafted.

The reconstruction is already done. What’s left is the judgment call, and that stays with you.

What Offscript doesn’t do.

  • It doesn’t act without you. Drafts wait for your review, and nothing is sent without your confirmation.
  • It isn’t a task manager you maintain. Offscript doesn’t ask you to keep lists. It understands the context around your work, including commitments made in conversations, and helps you see what needs attention and why.
  • It isn’t employee monitoring. Offscript is one person’s context layer. It doesn’t give managers dashboards, show colleagues’ calendars or tasks, or score productivity. Offscript for Business explains how it stays personal at work.
  • It doesn’t run entirely on your Mac. Transcription and processing use cloud services. Security & data explains how information is handled.

Questions.

How does Offscript work?

You capture what matters and connect the tools where your work happens. Offscript relates the people, conversations and commitments involved, then surfaces the relevant context when you need it. You stay in control: drafts wait for your review.

What apps can Offscript connect to?

Today, Slack, Google Calendar and Linear (Linear appears when it’s enabled for your account). You can also capture your own thoughts and voice notes in the app. New connections are on the way.

Does Offscript send messages for me?

Not on its own. Offscript prepares follow-up drafts. You review the recipient, wording and context, and nothing is sent without your confirmation.
